UNITED EYEING SUMMER DEAL FOR STRIKER

Premier League giants Manchester United are reportedly keen to sign Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer. This is according to the report from The Sun which stated that the Red Devils are eyeing a summer deal for the Everton player. It was reported that Manchester United are hoping they can strike a deal with the Toffees for Calvert-Lewin who's currently on England duty at the Euro 2020 tournament.

Everton attacker Calvert-Lewin has alreadyfeatured for England at the tournament though he was left out of the England squad for the round of 16 clash with Germany which ended in a 2-0 win for his team thanks to the late goals from Manchester City star Raheem Sterling and Tottenham Hotspur hitman Harry Kane. Calvert-Lewin was in the squad for the previous three England games at the tournament.

Manchester United have not signed a long-term replacement for RomeluLukaku since the Belgian international left the club two years ago and Everton player Calvert-Lewin could be the man to finally replace Lukaku at Old Trafford for the long-term. It was reported that Manchester United want Calvert-Lewin to lead their attack as from the new season. The Red Devils have been monitoring Calvert-Lewin and his impressive performances for Everton over the last few seasons and are ready to make their move for him.

Calvert-Lewin has produced his best form for Everton in the last two seasons under the watchful eyes of Italian tactician Carlo Ancelotti since his transfer from Sheffield United in a £1.5m deal five years ago. Ancelotti has since being replaced by Spanish tactician Rafael Benitez as the new Everton manager after he left the role to become the Real Madrid manager for the second time. Calvert-Lewin scored 29 goals in the Premier League over the last two seasons for the Toffees including 16 goals last season.
