Ronald Koeman Right About Lukaku, Say Everton Fan Groups

Team:

Ronald Koeman recently claimed that Romelu Lukaku is highly likely to leave Everton sooner rather than later due to his quality not being justified at Everton.

This comment was expected to attract a significant backlash from the Everton supporters, as it appeared to degrade Everton. Surprisingly, there has been quite a lot of support from the Everton fans group. Even they regard that Lukaku is highly likely to leave the club in the near future, as interest from Champions League clubs grow.

Fans group also feel that this latest comments fromKoeman could also be a way to increase Lukaku’s transfer value, as the Dutch manager praises the player quite immensely in those comments.

Lukaku has been one of the best players for Everton this season and he has already moved up to 7 league goals. This was after finishing last season with 18 league goals, although Everton were unable to capitalise. The club finished in a disappointing 11th place far away from even a Europa League spot.

It would have been thought that the lack of European football would help Ronald Koeman now, but it has not been the case has Everton have not been able to climb much higher than seventh so far. Fan group think that Lukaku has no obligation to stay at Everton, as he is not an Evertonian.

"It makes a pleasant change for someone to tell the truth. What he's saying is what a lot of Evertonians are thinking. He should have ambition. Why should Romelu Lukaku have any responsibility to stay at Everton? He's not an Evertonian. I would love him to stay, but every player has his price. It's unfortunate that more of our players are not getting looked at by the European leagues. There needs to be a statement of intent from our owner, that if clubs want to buy our players it will be on our terms and for top dollar," said chairman of supporters' group Blue Union, Dave Kelly.
