MANCINI PREDICTS TEVEZ RETURN

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has said that there is every possibility that Carlos Tevez will return to the first-team action for the match against Chelsea.

Manchester City will be facing Chelsea on Wednesday, and it is currently one of the crucial encounters for the club in the race for the Premier league title.

Manchester City recently lost their lead over Manchester United after suffering a surprising 1-0 defeat at the hands of Swansea last weekend. However, both the Manchester clubs faced disappointment during the midweek action as they were knocked out of the Europa league at the last 16 stage.

It now means that Manchester City have the possibility of finishing trophyless this season after having promised a lot during the early part of the campaign. As a result, Manchester City are looking to induce confidence within the team by bringing in Carlos Tevez back.

The Argentine has been training with the club recently after returning from the self-imposed exile. He scored in the reserves last week, but there were doubts whether Roberto Mancini would take him for the starting line-up. Now, the manager has confirmed that Carlos Tevez is likely to be part of the Manchester City squad that will face Chelsea. With Tevez back in the squad, City might be the best Premier League bet.

"Everyone is keen [on his return] – he is still a player for Manchester City and we never doubted that. Of course he has had some difficulties with the club but he is here now and we like to look to the future instead of the past. Everyone can make a difference – him as well. Everyone knows his qualities, no one ever doubted them," Manchester City midfielder Nigel de Jong said in a recent interview.

Carlos Tévez last played for Manchester City back in September, but was crucial in helping the club win the Champions League qualification last season.
