PSV Eindhoven striker Kevin Lozano has stressed that he is completely focused on the summer World Cup and he is not interested in a move to Everton. Marcel Brands recently quit PSV to join the Toffees as the new director of football and this has spread speculation that Lozano could be on his way to Goodison Park.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Lozano said: “Brands brought me to PSV, I’m grateful, happy, but I’m not thinking about whether I’m an option [for Everton]. If there is an option to leave we’ll decide what is the best decision for me and my family, but I’m concentrating on the national team.”

Lozano joined PSV from Pachuca in the summer of 2017.He managed to contribute 17 goals and 11 assists as the Dutch club were crowned as the new league champions. As a result of his impressive form, the forward has been linked with the number of high-profile clubs including Arsenal but he may not make a decision until the conclusion of the World Cup.

Over the past few years, Lozano has transformed into one of Mexico’s key players in the attack front and his performances could be key to El Tri progressing beyond the group stage. The North American nation have not progressed beyond the round of 16 in each of this previous six editions of the World Cup and this is something that they will be desperate to put an end to go, though they don’t face an easy challenge on their hands.

Prior to the World Cup, Mexico have three friendlies against Wales, Scotland and Denmark and manager Juan Carlos Osorio will be aiming to get his players into their best shape for the global tournament. Mexico have been pitted against reigning champions Germany, South Korea and Sweden in their World Cup group.
