GIVE LAMBERT TIME

The Everton manager David Moyes has said that the Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert should not be criticised from the word go and that he should be given time to build his own team. Everton managed to run out 3-1 winners over Aston Villa at Villa Park.

This has been one of the best starts to a new season by Everton after many years. The slow start has been one of the main reasons for Everton not finishing much higher than they should do. However, David Moyes has changed the training techniques of the players in order to bring out the best in them during the early parts of the campaign.

It has worked like a treat after they have continued the 1-0 win over Manchester United on the opening day of the season into the match against Aston Villa as well. However, it has been a very poor start for Aston Villa after they have now lost two consecutive matches. Aston Villa were defeated 1-0 by West Ham on the opening day of the season. However, the Everton manager David Moyes has said that the club needs to offer some kind of patience from manager Paul Lambert.

"It is going to be very hard. Paul is a young manager who has come to a big club and it is a bit like myself when I took over at Everton. You are not going to turn things around right away. It is going to take time. Paul has got a big job on his hands, which I'm sure he knows. No-one can come into any job, and especially one as big as this, and expect it to be correct right away. But the supporters were right behind him and were with the team," said David Moyes after the match.
