They were beaten 2-0 by fellow Premier League team Arsenal with goals from Brazil international Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka. The Arsenal defeat was followed by the humiliating 4-0 defeat at the hands of Major League Soccer (MLS) side Minnesota United with Argentine attacker Emanuel Reynoso responsible for one of the goals.
Everton took just six minutes to take the lead against home team Blackpool in their third pre-season friendly game this summer and Tom Davies soon made it 2-0 with his goal. Gary Madine halved the deficit just before the end of the first half. In the second half, Dele Alli scored the first of his brace for the Toffesto edge them 3-1 ahead before former Everton star Callum Connolly pulled one back forBlackpool. Dele Alli then scored his second goal of the game to seal the victory for Everton manager Frank Lampard and his players.
