UNITED DETERMINED TO LIFT RECORD TITLE
Manchester United are determined to lift a record 19th English Premier League title. United equalled Liverpool's total of 18 in 2009, but lost out to Chelsea last season in the race to be Premier League champions by a single point.
"This club is all about breaking records and achieving a new status. To be the most successful team in the English game would mean everything to the club and to the fans especially,: Midfielder Darren Fletcher said.
Hernandez Completes Move
Mexico striker Javier Hernandez has sealed his move to Manchester United from Chivas de Guadalajara after the Home Office granted a work permit.
The 22-year-old, who is set to travel with his country to this summer's World Cup finals, had agreed terms with United and passed a medical in April.
United have not disclosed the fee for Hernandez, but he is believed to have cost somewhere in the region of £6-8m.
He will officially join the Red Devils on 1 July.
Manchester Clubs fight for Cole
Unsettled midfielder Joe Cole looks set to leave Chelsea at the end of the season with Manchester United and Manchester City both ready to offer the midfielder a deal.
The 28-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and had been hoping to stay at the club he supported as a boy, but is now prepared to walk away after the Blues' most recent contract offer.
Fergie: Giggs will Play
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes that the recent injury-enforced rest enjoyed by Ryan Giggs will stand the veteran Welshman in good stead for the remainder of the season.
Giggs suffered a minor break to his arm a month ago but Ferguson has confirmed that he will back in action in time to face Liverpool next weekend.
"Ryan will be fit for the Liverpool game," Ferguson confirmed to reporters on Friday.
"His performances in training have been fantastic. He is getting another plaster on today but we will be getting a fresh player back, which is good."
Nomura join the Red Knights
The Red Knights have hired Japanese brokerage Nomura to advise them in their battle to wrest control of Manchester United from the Glazer family.
In a huge boost for the group of investors, the Nomura team will be led by Guy Dawson and Andrew McNaught.
Both worked on the deal which saw Malcolm Glazer buy the club for £800m in 2005.
The Red Knights have adopted a strategy of convincing Manchester United supporters to pool their funds for a takeover bid of around £1bn.
Welbeck injured for United
Preston on-loan striker Danny Welbeck could return to parent club Manchester United after breaking down in training on Wednesday.
The 19-year-old, who missed North End's last three matches, suffered a reaction to a knee injury during a session at United's training ground.
"His knee swelled up after training," Ferguson told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"He'll have another scan on Monday but it's not looking good. It's a blow but we'll have to get on with it."
United sign Telekom deal
Manchester United have signed a five-year sponsorship deal with communications group Telekom Malaysia.
The deal will make Telekom Malaysia the "Integrated Telecommunications Partner" of the Old Trafford club in Malaysia.
Announcing the deal, chief executive David Gill said the partnership was proof of the Glazer family's long-term commitment to the club.
"We will be around for the length of this deal and many more in addition to that," Gill said.
"This demonstrates the strength of the club. It is a long-term partnership for five years.
